- Mark Houston, PA-C, has been a physician assistant with The Surgery Group since August of 2003. He has over eight years of surgical experience. His main focus now is minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, although he has extensive experience in general and vascular surgery, as well.
- Mark received two undergraduate degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi in computer science and business administration. He subsequently received a masters degree in health science from the University of South Alabama. He is certified by the NCCPA, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician assistants. Mark also trains future physician assistants in surgical techniques and patient care, as he is an adjunct professor for the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant Studies department.
- Mark now specializes in minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery. He has had specialized training from Dr. Jeffrey Lord in laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques. Mark now works mainly with Dr. Lord and the Sacred Heart Insitute for Surgical Weight Loss.
Mark's personal interests include playing music, fitness, family, boating and fishing.
